The Gardener is an old man who appears ancient and decrepit, but moves as nimbly as a man half his age. He is often seen smiling at nothing, as though he understood some hidden joke. He walks barefoot and wears nothing but rags on his body, and yet seems content. His unsettling, fathomless gray eyes seem to be laughing and mocking, yet filled with a strange compassion.
